Kittens: How Quickly? How Much?
"How quickly can I get my kitten? Do you have any kittens available right now?'"
When kittens become available, they will be listed on my website. I am a responsible breeder and I'm trying to maintain a true and natural breed with my goal to enhance my lines and for showing. If you want a kitten immediately, you may need to check other Siberian breeders (please see my links). Your adoption is the beginning of a 12- to 16-year relationship between you and your kitten/cat, as well as an ongoing relationship with Inspirada. I want nothing more than for you to have a long and cherished life with your new kitten/cat.
Generally, my Kitten Families find that it takes about 16 weeks to adopt one of my loving kittens. This includes the time of making your application, getting your questions answered, learning about care and adoption costs, and any other steps necessary for you to feel comfortable and secure in adopting your kitten. It also allows your baby kitten to be born and grow up healthily socialized by Mama and litter mates. Cats are by nature solitary animals, and receive the majority of their socialization from Mama and litter mates by 12- to 16-weeks old.
What this means is that kittens placed before 12- or 13-weeks-old have not had the time to learn cat social cues or gentle interaction and play strategies. These kittens tend to display more fear biting and play aggression, as well as other unhealthy attributes such as sucking on fabrics, or whining. Rather than a cute "baby behavior," these are sad signs a kitty has not been allowed to fully develop naturally.
Before contacting me, please take the time to read through my website and contract for information on allergies, diet, breed standards and history, and the philosophy of raising cats. Many of your questions will be answered through a careful reading of Inspirada's site.
"How much are your kittens?"
The costs reflect the expenses incurred with each litter, as well as happily and healthily maintaining the parent cats here with me at home. Your kitten comes home to you spayed or neutered, and with the first rounds of vaccinations and preventative de-worming. Adoption cost will include the spay or neuter but not the necessary transportation costs. Having your kittens' spay or neuter done here is part of my commitment to being a responsible breeder. It is required on the code of ethics we adhere to. Additionally, having this surgery completed while baby is here with mama reduces stress and healing time, and allows your kitten to go home to you ready to transition into a happy member of your household. Females will require more recuperation time than the males so there may a delay with delivery of the females kittens.
My kitten prices are $900.
I look forward to getting to know you in order to work with you to fulfill your dream of adopting a loving Siberian or Maine Coon kitten or cat.
